Kanji Hajimete A2 Tutor Support Course

Outline

This is a fee-based teacher support course for those who are interested in kanji, or want to start learning kanji.
A total of 36 kanji characters will be taken up in this course (Lessons 1-9). However, one will learn not only how to read and write kanji, but also acquire information about Japanese kanji and methods on how to study. 
In addition, two Classroom Sessions will be held during the course, where we aim to use kanji through games, and try one’s hand at calligraphy. The Classroom Sessions will be held at the Japan Foundation Manila (JFM) on February 28 and March 13 (Fridays), from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

This course has a Group noticeboard. You can exchange information with your classmates and teacher regarding the kanji that you like.

About the student selection process

This course is for those who can come to the JFM. The maximum number of students for this course is 20. Participants are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply, please read the course outline carefully, and please click the "Course Registration" button and complete the application by 11:59 pm of February 2. The results of the selection process are scheduled to be sent through email on February 3. Please note that those who will not be selected will automatically be placed on a waitlist, of which the results will be sent through email by February 10.

About payment of course fee

For those who have been selected based on the February 3 email, please make your payments at the JFM office. Only cash payments will be accepted.
Payment period: Monday to Friday, February 3 to 7.  (JFM office hours weekdays: 10: 00 - 18: 30)
Course fee: 600 pesos
Payment deadline: February 7, 2019, 18:30 (Manila time).

(For those accepted from the waitlist, payment deadline will be informed through email.)
Your eligibility for this course will be canceled in case payment is not received by the deadline. 
Please note that cancellation after payment will not be allowed.
In the event that the course should not push through due to circumstances beyond the control of JFM, a refund will be made in accordance with regulations.
 

Course Objective "Can-do"

① To be able to 1) distinguish the forms, 2) understand the meanings, 3) read, and 4) write the 36 kanji characters introduced in this course. 

② To be able know the background of Japanese Kanji and the methods in learning kanji

Passing Score: Score of 60 points or higher
