Outline
The Marugoto A1-1 (Katsudoo & Rikai) Tutor Support Course is a course to comprehensively learn about the Japanese language and culture. This course will combine online self-study with submission of assignments to a real-life tutor, in addition to 6 live lessons with the tutor.
In the Katsudoo (activity) section of this course, you will practice a lot of listening and speaking for everyday setting. Meanwhile, in the Rikai (grammar) section, you can systematically learn how Japanese is used in communication. The objective is to gain a comprehensive Japanese ability that includes reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
This course aim to enrich activities of primary and secondary education in the United Kingdom by experiencing Japanese Language and Culture, and introduce them into the classroom in the future.
You will meet other teachers who study Japanese in the course group and live lessons!
If you want to thoroughly study Japanese from scratch by yourself, while enhancing your practical skills with tutor support, this course is for you! You will meet other friends who study Japanese in the course group and live lessons, too!

■About the student selection process
This is a course where participating students are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply for the selection process, first carefully read the course outline in full. Then click the 'Course Registration' button to complete the registration form within the application time period
Note, results of the selection process are expected to be sent to the email address registered with 'Minato' on September 1(Fri) around 3:00 pm (UK Time).

About Live Lesson
■Live lessons
Live lessons are offered in fixed classes of one tutor for 5 students. One lesson is 40 minutes long and there is one lesson for every topic (5 in total). The live lessons are based on conversations learned in the self-study materials and written assignments, so you will need to have completed the self-study for each topic before the live lesson.
Live lessons are scheduled by class. Please choose a class where you can take part in all six lessons, when you register for the course. Classes and live lessons dates may not be changed for any reason whatsoever.

■Oral test
The oral test is conducted one-on-one after all of the live lessons have been completed. The date will be decided by consultation with the tutor in charge after the course begins. It is usually about 20~30 minutes.
■System used
Live lessons and oral tests are conducted through Zoom <http://zoom.us/>. With Zoom, the lesson room can be accessed by opening an assigned URL, so there is no need to download a system or to open an account. However, the program will need to be installed for the first lesson.
The system requirements (necessary bandwidth) for the group video conference using Zoom are as follows.
Upload Speed 600kbps / Download Speed 1.2Mbps
For those who do not know the bandwidth of their internet connection, please use the following site to conduct a speed test. (This will transfer you to an external site.)
