Marugoto A2-2 (Katsudoo & Rikai) Tutor Support Course
Outline
This is a course to comprehensively learn about the Japanese language and culture. In this course, you can self-study online while a regularly having your assignments corrected and receiving live lessons by a tutor.
■Target leaners
- Those who living in Malaysia
- Those who have studied approx. 150 hours of Japanese before
* This course is suitable for A2 level Japanese language learner.
In the Katsudoo section of this course, you can gain practical communication skills for everyday situations by listening to a lot of Japanese as you practice speaking. Meanwhile, in the Rikai section, you can systematically learn how Japanese is used in communication. The objective is to gain a comprehensive Japanese ability that includes reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Please study at pace of one lesson per week.
There are three types of tutor supported components offered in this course.
- 9 live lessons (once a week)
- 1 oral test
- 2 Katsudoo and 8 Rikai assignments corrected
If you want to thoroughly study Japanese by yourself, while enhancing your practical skills with tutor support, this course is for you! You will meet other friends who study Japanese in Malaysia in the live lessons, too!

- This course is one level higher than the Marugoto A1-1, A1-2, A2-1 (Katsudoo & Rikai) Course.
- We strongly recommend you to take "the Japanese Test for Course Recommendation" for level checking before applying to this course.
■About the student selection process
This is a course where participating students are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply for the selection process, first carefully read the course outline in full. Then, within the designated application time period, please click the 'Course Registration' button and complete the application.
Note, results of the selection process are expected to be sent to the email address registered with 'Minato' on December 19 (Sat) by 4:00 pm (Malaysia Time).

About Live Lesson
■Live lessons
The Live Lesson is a fixed class conducted by one instructor and with a maximum of six students. The initial live lesson will consist of course guidance, and thereafter one live lesson will be conducted per lesson. One live lesson takes approximately 45 minutes. The live lessons are based on conversations learned in the self-study materials and written assignments, so you will need to have completed the self-study for each lesson before the live lesson.
Live lessons and oral test are scheduled by class. Please check the schedule below and choose a class where you want to join. Please note, neither the class itself nor the date and time of the Live Lesson can be changed to suit the personal needs of any one particular student.

■Oral test
The oral test is conducted one-on-one after all of the live lessons have been completed. The time will be decided by consultation with the tutor in charge after the course begins. It is usually about 10 to 15 minutes.
■System used
Live lessons and oral tests are conducted through Zoom (https://zoom.us/). With Zoom, the lesson room can be accessed by opening an assigned URL, so there is no need to download a system or to open an account. However, the program will need to be installed for the first lesson.
JFKL uses passcode and waiting room functions as security measures while using Zoom.
The system requirements (necessary bandwidth) for the group video conference using Zoom are as follows.
Upload Speed 600kbps / Download Speed 1.2Mbps
For those who do not know the bandwidth of their internet connection, please use the following site to conduct a speed test. (This will transfer you to an external site.)

Passing Score: score of 60 or higher
The allocation of points is as follows.

- You will not be given an attendance certificate if you attend less than twice of the live lessons.
