Speech A2 (Sightseeing) Tutor Support Course


This is a course where you make a speech in Japanese.
The theme of the speech is 'Sightseeing'. Would you like to try making a speech in Japanese about a sightseeing spot in your country that you recommend?

You will learn in a step-by-step process while also receiving tutor support, so even those who have never given a speech in Japanese before can feel at ease taking part.

■ About the student selection process
This is a course where participating students are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply for the selection process, first carefully read the course outline in full. Then, within the designated application period, please click the 'Course Registration' button and complete the application.

Note, results of the selection process are expected to be sent to the email address registered with 'Minato' on January 18 (Fri.) at 10:00 a.m. approx. (Japanese Time).

Course Objective "Can-do"

1. Able to write a short, simple speech about a sightseeing spot in own country if indicated by the speech structure.
2. Able to give a short, simple speech that has been practised if allowed to sometimes refer to notes.
3. Able to answer simple questions after the presentation if allowed to sometimes ask for repitition or explanation.
4. Able to understand the general content when listening to a short, simple speech, and ask simple questions to confirm details etc., if visual aids are provided.

This course was created based on the textbook "Speech for Basic Level Japanese: for organized oral presentation of one's country, culture, and society".


About Live Lesson

■ Live lesson
The live lesson has one tutor for 5 students. The lesson is 1 hour long. Live lessons are scheduled by class. Please choose a class that you can participate in, when you register for the course. At that time, please be sure to confirm the correct time in the country or region where you live. Classes and live lesson dates may not be changed for any reason whatsoever.

Class 1: 10:00-11:00 (Japanese Time) January 23 (Tue.), February 20 (Tue.)
Class 2: 14:00-15:00 (Japanese Time) January 23 (Tue.), February 20 (Tue.)

■ System used
Live lessons are conducted using the web-meeting system Zoom<>.
The system requirements (necessary bandwidth) for the group video conference using Zoom are as follows.
Upload Speed 1.0 Mbps / Download Speed 600 kbps

For those who do not know the bandwidth of their internet connection, please use the following site to conduct a speed test. (This will transfer you to an external site.)

To take the live lessons and oral test, please have the following four items ready.

・Live lessons connect learners from around the world. Please do not be late. Please understand that there may be up to a 15-minute delay, depending on the connection.

Passing Score: score of 60% or higher
