Marugoto A2B1-2 Tutor Support Course

Outline

This is a course to comprehensively learn about the Japanese language and culture.In this course, you can self-study online while a regularly having your assignments corrected and receiving live lessons by a tutor.

In the きいてはなす section, you can gain practical communication skills by listening to a lot of Japanese and practicing speaking. You can also practice speaking for longer periods. In the よんでかく section, you can read emails and sites that have blogs, etc., then try writing your own. The objective is to gain a comprehensive Japanese ability by reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Please complete one Topic every 2 weeks.

There are three types of supports offered in this course.
・5 live lessons (once every two weeks)
・1 oral test 
・3 きいてはなす and 8 よんでかく assignments corrected

This course also includes groups. Through the group noticeboard, you can study while communicating with friends that you learn with and tutors.
If you want to thoroughly study Japanese by yourself, while enhancing your practical skills with tutor support, this course is for you! You will meet other friends who study Japanese in the course group and live lessons, too!

■About the student selection process
This is a course where participating students are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply for the selection process, first carefully read the course outline in full. Then, within the designated application time period, please click the 'Course Registration' button and complete the application.

Note, results of the selection process are expected to be sent to the email address registered with 'Minato' on September 29(Fri.) around 10:00 a.m. (Japan Time).

■About the Japanese Test for Course Recommendation
This course is one level higher than the Marugoto A2B1-1 Course. If you don't know what level of Marugoto courses to take, try taking the Japanese Test for Course Recommendation.

Topic 9 Looking for a Job

About Live Lesson

■Live lessons (LL)
Live lessons are offered with one tutor for 5 students. Each lesson is around 60 minutes long and there is one lesson for every topic (6 in total including a course orientation and an oral test). The live lessons are based on conversations learned in the self-study materials and written assignments, so you will need to have completed the self-study for each topic before the live lesson.
Class 1: Wednesday 15:00-16:00  (Japan Time) Oct.4, Oct.18, Nov.1, Nov.15, Nov.29
Class 2: Thursday 10:00-11:00 a.m. (Japan Time) Oct.5, Oct.19, Nov.2, Nov.16, Nov.30
Class 3: Thursday 15:00-16:00 (Japan Time) Oct.5, Oct.19, Nov.2, Nov.16, Nov.30

■Oral test
The oral test is conducted one-on-one after all of the live lessons have been completed. The date will be decided by consultation with the tutor in charge after the course begins. It is usually about 30 minutes.
Class 1: Wednesday December 6, between 15:00 - 17:30 (Japan Time)
Class 2: Thursday December 7, between 10:00 - 12:30 a.m. (Japan Time)
Class 3: Thursday December 7, between  15:00 - 17:30 (Jaapn Time)

To take the live lessons and oral test, please have the following four items ready.

Note:
・Live lessons connect learners from around the world. Please do not be late. Please understand that there may be up to a 15-minute delay/extension, depending on the connection.
・Be sure to use a computer that is connected to the internet. Do not participate with a smartphone, as instructor’s screen will be shared during live lessons.

Completion Requirements

Passing Score: score of 60 points or higher

The allocation of points is as follows.
・Study progress 50%
・Assignment 10%
・Test 10%
・Live lesson 20%
・Oral test 10%

Note:You can take the test if you go over 60% in both the study progress of each Topic and submitted assignments.
