Shodoo A1 Self-Study Course

Outline

Shodoo is a part of traditional Japanese culture, and is an art form which uses brushes and ink to write kanji, hiragana, and katakana, etc.
In this course you will learn the basics of Shodoo, how to write Japanese characters, and related vocabulary.
After that, you will experience using an actual brush to write characters.

The course is designed for those who have never learned Shodoo before.
So, would you like to have fun trying out the world of calligraphy?

Course Objective "Can-do"

1.Able to understand the basics of Shodoo and related vocabulary.
2.Able to understand the basics of writing characters and related points.
3.Able to write characters while following the basics of writing characters and related points.

Teaching Materials Used

Learn interactively using videos, slide materials, and quizzes, etc.

This course was created based on the text "Nihongo "Doki-Doki" Taiken Koryu Katsudo-shu: Japanese through Real Activities".

Completion Requirements

Passing Score: score of 60% or higher

The allocation of points is as follows.

STEP2  Study 'How to Writing Characters' 25%
STEP3  Study & Practical Task 'Try Shodoo' 25%
STEP4  Review what you have learnt 25%
