Outline

This is a course for learning expressions of boys and girls used within an anime/manga school setting. This course was designed to share the joy of learning Japanese to people in Canada and around the world.
This is for A2 level people with an interest in anime/manga.

Step 1 Learn boys and girls expressions with video
Step 2 Read the manga within 'School Expressions by Scene' on the 'Japanese in Anime & Manga' web site.
Step 3 Speak the script lines role playing as a boy or a girl. ※Assignment: Record audio of your voice and submit.
Step 4 Review What you Have Learnt

How would you like to role play as an anime/manga character within a Japanese school setting?

※ In this course there are no Live Lessons conducted.
There are assignment submissions and feedback on those assignments from the instructor.
After the assignments have been submitted you may be able to listen to the voice recordings of your fellow students in the same class.


※The deadline for submission is March 13 (Wed), 23:59pm (Eastern Standard Time).

■ About the student selection process.
This is a course where participating students are determined by a selection process. For those who wish to apply for the selection process, first carefully read the course outline in full. Then, within the designated application time period, please click the 'Course Registration' button and complete the application.

Note, results of the selection process are expected to be sent to the email address registered with 'Minato' on March 1 (Friday), around 11am (Eastern Standard Time).

Course Objective "Can-do"

1. Know the differences between expressions used by the Japanese anime/manga characters.
2. Able to read a simply written manga script and generally understand the content.
3. Able to understand the situation and speak the lines like the character.

Teaching Materials Used

Learning is done interactively using videos, web sites, and quizzes, etc.

This course was created using the web site 'Japanese in Anime & Manga' (http://anime-manga.jp/), developed by The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai.

Completion Requirements

Passing Score: score of 60% or higher

The allocation of points is as follows.

 Step 1 Learn Expressions  30%
 Step 2 Read Manga  30%
 Step 3 Submit Audio Recording of your Voice (Assignment)  30%
 Step 4 Review What you Have Learnt  10%
